Name That Tune! - The Nuovi Amici Bocce Club is sponsoring a great night of fun on Saturday, September 26, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Florida Room. Listen to some music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's and see how well you remember the name of that tune or maybe who sang it! Mike Maxedon is hosting this event for us. The event cost is $10 pp. This is a BYOB event. There will be a prizes for the winners! If you like, come dressed to represent your favorite musical era, tune(s) or musical artist! Let's fill up the house with Nuovi Amici!
NABC members have the chance to reserve their spot first! (Dependent on signups we might need to open it up to the community) Be sure to put your check (no cash please!) in the red box at the courts with your payment and your name(s) this week (before Sunday, September 6th) to reserve your spot! Be sure to mark it "NAME THAT TUNE" on the envelope. More fun info will be coming about this event!
FREE Bocce Lessons: Every Thursday Morning, 9:00 am - provided by Don Smith (current and potential members all welcome) See you at the bocce courts!
Double Rollers League: Every Monday & Thursday Evening at 7:00 pm, Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am. This league will continue through the championship game on Saturday, September 19th, 6:oo pm. (All Double Rollers players, subs and helpers are invited to a cookout at the championship game). If you have any questions about dates, times, etc., please contact Ray Bochek at 412-874-8210. Come on out and watch the games even if you aren't in the league! It can be quite entertaining! We hear there is dancing and a whole lot of laughing going on!
Sunday Night Social: It has been quite hot. Hopefully some of this heat will leave us soon. Since we have lights, the time is 7:00 - 9:00 pm. So, let's try to fill up the courts for our Sunday night socials again! It's a fun way to meet new people! All you need to do is signup on Team Reach and when you get to the courts, it is a quick random draw of names. We usually play 2-3 games. It's a great way to learn bocce if you are newer to the game. All in fun! BYOB and enjoy the sunset with us!
Malone's Casual League #3: League starts on September 21. The first balls are rolled at 9:00 am. The last game begins at 11:00 am. The league continues every Monday through a championship game on Monday, November 2. (Participating members, subs and helpers are invited to a cookout the day of the championship game.) This league is full, but if you are interested in being on the sub list, please contact Roe Malone at 412-297-1507. Even if you don't want to play, come on out and watch! Watching can be a great way to learn more about the game while having some fun!

State of the Art Bocce Courts
Our club is very fortunate. The Sun City Center Community Association has built the best bocce courts in this area. Our courts are made with Har-Tru clay which enables us to have a year-round professional surface to play bocce on.
New Membership Application
We welcome all SCCCA residents to join our club. Bocce is a sport that can be enjoyed by all. It is a low-impact, easy sport to learn. Our club is a great way to meet new people and socialize. While we will offer optional league play and friendly competition opportunities, please know that the main goal for our club is to have FUN! Residents of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to join us!
As a club member, you have access to the club's bocce ball equipment and can participate in club sponsored events. The game is ideally played with 2, 4 or 8 members. If you are ready to join, you can download your application below. If you prefer, applications can be picked up at the bocce courts, located on the wall beside the Red Dropbox. We can email an application if you send a request to: nabcscc@gmail.com.
2026 - New Membership is $35.00 - which includes the cost of a mandatory name badge.
Not sure if you want to join yet or want to give it a try first? Stop by our courts. Our members are a friendly group. If there is space available, you will most likely be invited to roll a few bocce balls. Feel free to talk to our members who will be happy to answer your questions. You can also email us at nabcscc@gmail.com, and we will set up a time for one of our bocce players to meet you at the courts to give you an overview of how the game is played.
History of the Nuovi Amici Bocce Ball Club

February 4, 2023 - A group of SCC residents came together at the Rollins Theatre to discuss bringing bocce to Sun City Center. There were over 90 members in attendance at the meeting!

March 3, 2023 - The Sun City Center Community Association Board of Directors approved and welcomed us as the community's newest club. The Nuovi Amici Bocce Ball Club was official!

March 30, 2023 - The Nuovi Amici Bocce Club held its first official gathering. Over 60 residents became the first members of the newly formed club.

March 31, 2023 - January 2025 - Members of the Nuovi Amici Bocce Ball Club worked together, exploring ways for our club to achieve the goal of having bocce ball courts built on SCCCA property. It was truly a group effort. Members collaborated with the SCCCA board and the management of SCC. Throughout this time, over 60 members maintained active club memberships. Without these committed members, we would not have been able to keep the movement alive.

January, 2025 - After much anticipation, a lot of hard work and a lot of patience, the SCCCA board were able to finally approve construction of the bocce ball courts to begin.

May, 2025 - Contracting equipment moved in and construction of the bocce ball courts began. It was exciting to watch our dream become a reality!

June 23, 2025 - The SCCCA hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony of the new bocce ball courts with many members of the Nuovi Amici Bocce Ball Club in attendance. At the time of the ribbon cutting, the club consisted of 62 members.

October 25, 2025 - The first casual league play became a reality.

November 17, 2025 - Club membership has grown to 185 members.

June 4, 2026 - Club membership has grown to 228 Members
